How travelling into the Right Place (Tour/Interview/Visitation)

Guideline for the people who likes to tour/visit/ interview:

(Bimbingan untuk yang suka jalan/mau jalan/pergi interview/lawat kawan/first time di sesebuah tempat)

1. Search the map in internet before that day 

(Cari peta di internet sebelum hari tersebut)

2. Search the company profile/place on internet 

(Cari maklumat tentang syarikat/tempat yang dituju) [interview]

3. Call the office – in case you lost

(Telefon pihak syarikat, tanya di mana lokasi sebenar)

4. If you had extra money, call taxi to go anywhere – what i did was pay more for mini bus, it was just only me in the bus and the driver, also his kid beside him

(Mudah saja, telefon teksi terus sampai, kamu perlu cakap dengan terperinci mengenai kedudukannya supaya pemandu itu faham)

5. Better if you find your friend to company you. Do not alone; it was dangerous!

(Cari kawan yang boleh temankan kamu)

6. Sometimes you have to ask people around you – better than you ask map, it’s just a paper and can’t talk, right? 

(Malu bertanya, sesat jalan. Peta tidak pandai cakap macam manusia)

(My brother said, if you so scare and can't find the place - because you tourist or first timer - call the police or go to the station). He said that when I am first time go to Sabah 6 years ago... Oh... That sound scary, police station. Thanks to God because He sent me are news friend to company me until I reach to campus. Fuh...  

Berambat/Trawling Fish At Nanga Mela, Kapit, Sarawak

Berambat: The meaning of 'berambat' is trawling the fish nets with installing side by side and took the net is gradually from upstream to downstream.

Mela Kapit Sarawak River is a place for us to reel in the fish. We trawl fish from the upper reaches of the River downstream Mela Mela reason is disturbed by the presence of several people who were diving on the same day with our early morning.

Wong Copper is small terjuan water not far from the burial place of the Mela. If the river by boat, people had to pull it. But if the people downstream, they just need to let their boat brought river rapids.

Some people will resist a net at the downstream to trap the fish before start to trawl

If there's a lot of wood on the river banks or nets are not reach on the river banks, we have to use a stick to make the fish swim away to the middle of the river to trap them.

When we reach he downstream, some of team need to distract around the net to avoid the fish swim away. Both right and left side net will be form into a circle before bring the the over.

To avoid the big fish swim away from the net, we need to catch and kill the fish 

Just press the fish head or around the gill 

Lastly, bring over the net 

Then, get the leftover fish at the net 

That's only first round. Ikan Semah (big scale) and the unknown fish. I don't get the name. 

Nanga Sempaung

We start trawling here. 

People now a day don't use to trawling or fishing, maybe they think that is wasting their time. So, the just make a shortcut. Not catch the fish, or 'drug' the fish (menubai-tradisional way to make the fish unconscious). Worst than than, they just electricity the river or bomb the river. Our village not allowed people to do this thing but, some other fellow from another village allowed this method. 

After all, I am very satisfied for this adventure journey. We stop trawling at the evening. Late evening, we start to catch the frog and shrimp. 

Berambat - Nanga Mela, Kapit.

Berambat: Nangkap ikan enggau cara masang pukat ari sepiak-sepiak lalu ngirit ia gadai-gadai ari ulu sampai ke ili lubuk besai tauka mit. 

Sungai Mela Kapit Sarawak, endur kami berambat. Kami berambat ke ulu sungai Mela laban sungai ba ili tu udah diregau bala kaban ka nyelam pagi amat tadi.

Wong Tembaga, wong tu enda jauh ari pendam. Enti ke ulu, bebatak kasak ka amat. Enti ke ili, beratung tang ko orang anang majung pala wong dulu laban nangi ka tepanggai...

Enti bisi  maya, tau ga ngetan pukat di ili dulu, ngambi ka ikan lari ke kili nya tekena pukat. 

Enti bisi mayuh batang kayu di tebing, serta pukat enda atai tisi din, achuk enggau kayu ngambi ka ikan dia lari ke tengah.

Muru ikan ari ili lubuk, sebedau pukat rambat datai.

Ngulih ka ikan besai enggai ka lepau.

Pecal pala ikan, ngambi ia 'mati' serta enda lepau. Tinggal ikan mit aja di pukat.

Pengudah ia, gerempung pukat ari sepiak kiba ngau kanan.  

Bai pukat nya ke ili karangan, ngulih ka ikan ti agi tinggal di pukat. Lalu muai rau dalam pukat, ngambi ka negi ulih ga berambat enggau manah.

Penyampau dalam sigi lubuk. (Baru round 1). Kena ngambis ka cerita: round udah nya kami enda entu bulih laban bisi orang ngeregau ai, sida ti nyelam. Tang nadai ngawa ga laban kami bisi bulih mimit. Syukur ko orang. 

Nanga Sempaung, lubuk baka tu ulih endur berambat ikan.

Lubuk mit, endur kami mula berambat.

Nota: Anang sekali-kali ngaran sungai semina deka  ngulih ka ikan mayuuh. Laban mayuh anembiak mandi enda entu maya. Anang nubai sebarang laban ia ulih ngapus ka jelu dalam ai, ukai setakat ikan. Anang enda madah ka orang serumah ti ngempu dunya ti ka ditujah kita. Anang berambat enti empai nanya orang ti empu menua, enda manah nujah tanah orang serta ngambi utai dia enti dikebendar ka orang rumahnya. Anang ngebom ikan laban kitai enda nemu, bisi orang nyelam dia kini.

Cerita kebendar: (Bisi orang Nanga B. (ngai nyebut nama menua sida) nujah sungai kami ngena jalai belakang, nadai bepadah lalu ngaran ikan di sungai kami tu. Nya kebuah ikan nyau ambis pupus. Sida belalai ngambi ikan enda bepadah. Udah nya nadai bebagi agi nya. Tapi ulah sida ditemu orang laban petara ga nyerungkai pekara nya. Kami empu nadai kala ngaran ikan. Petara merekat sida neh. 

Wong Mit Sungai Serian, Kapit Sarawak

Location: Across the Batang Rejang river, opposite my long house, Nanga Mela
Comment: My father said, in time to come (maybe), government build highway here. This nature could be disaster by the development. He said,"Engka enda dek meda wong mit tu agi. Kada enda tolak orang tu ila. Tujak lipan kini, nya ngasuh ia nyau."  So sad, if they destroy the nature just like that. I hope they love this view once they see it and skip it. Ya. Harap begitulah jadinya, harap ada orang yang sanggup mempertahankannya.
